Red Jonathan apple

A deeply red coloured Jonathan apple. Not as popular in supermarkets anymore as it has similar harvest time and storage requirements as the Red Delicious.

Appearance: A small to medium sized dark red apple with white to cream coloured flesh. Perfect size to fit into little lunch boxes.

Taste: The fruit is juicy and sweet. It is great fresh or cooked. When cooked, it is best used as a puree … perfect for apple sauce or jam!

Pollination: This variety belongs to Pollination Group 3 and is partially self fertile. This means that it will seta few fruit on its own but produces much more when an apple in pollination groups 2, 3 or 4 is nearby.

Harvest time: Mid to end of Autumn
